"This is Ani-Imo's final volume. To judge from the sales ranks of its volumes on Amazon, it was a series that never found a mass audience. Probably many would consider Ani-Imo just too weird with semi-incestuous step-siblings, truly massive gender identity issues and occasional cruelty. Yet in the end, I liked this series because at its best, it had a likeable cast and it could make a reader think about the difficulties of love. This volume has step-siblings Youta and Hikaru working through whether they really want to return to their original bodies and what sort of relationship they might have. Our resident lesbian Oda certainly enjoyed finding out that in the body of male classmate Mayama, she could hook up with girls who would not give her the time of day before, but in the end, she decides that Mayama, now stuck in her body, is the one for her (and wait until you see how their relationship ultimately turns out). As for Youta and Hikaru? I'll just say the ending is both touching and hilarious. Ani-Imo was a very strange series but for those of us who followed it through, it was quite enjoyable in a twisted way."
